Product scope

AltPilot helps Shopify merchants scan product images, generate conservative product image alt text suggestions, review edits, apply approved text, and roll back applied changes.

AltPilot uses Shopify product-only scopes for v0: read_products and write_products.

AI and infrastructure providers

AltPilot uses Shopify APIs for app installation, product data, billing, and lifecycle webhooks. It uses Cloudflare for hosting, Workers, D1 database, R2 storage, Queues, and Workers AI infrastructure.

Data processed by AltPilot

Shop domain, installation/session records, and Shopify app lifecycle metadata.
Product and product image metadata needed to scan current alt text status.
Generated alt text suggestions, merchant review status, apply history, rollback history, and evidence export metadata.
Usage, queue/job status, billing plan, and credit ledger records needed for quotas, support, and billing operations.

No customer, order, checkout, fulfillment, or payment data is required or requested for AltPilot's current product image workflow.

Deletion and support

When Shopify sends a shop redaction webhook or a verified deletion request is processed, AltPilot deletes shop-scoped app records from the active app database unless retention is required by law. CSV exports and evidence reports are retained for up to 30 days for merchant download and support.
